Car Shows & Antique Shops

Today I went to a car show downtown, the sun was shining warmly on our backs and it made me long for spring to come in full blast! It was hard to remember that it had just snowed a few days ago!
Anyway, some of the owners of these cool cars really get into the festive feeling and dress up for the car show. I got pictures of the best dressed couple there, though I'm not sure how accurate their attire is. He looked like a 40's gangster, and she looked like a 20's-30's flapper. But I'm no expert, they could have been 100% accurate for all I know. However, I did like that they didn't look too costume-y (in my opinion) they just looked a little dressy, and after all whats wrong wit looking your best for a Sunday- er- Thursday drive?

After the car show I went shopping around town in antique shops, I found several new-to-me books. An Old Fashioned Girl and Eight Cousins By Louisa May Alcott. And A book from The Royal Diaries  young adult series I am collecting.

Just as a side-note, I found my teacup! The one I've been missing for a year. I got it for my 16th birthday.

Anyway, I love this teacup. It may seem silly to post about it, but I'm very fond of it. It's kind of a big deal to me...

As a final thought to leave you with, these words of wisdom were written in the Royal Diaries book.
To my wonderful daughter ---,
Sometimes the best  writers are those who know themselves, and sometimes the way to do that is to write to themselves about their lives - a diary or journal is a good place to start.
Another good way to grow as a writer is to read. That is a truly magical way to experience.
Your mother who loves you very much!!

  2. Lauren, it is an Alice in Wonderland teacup indeed! The design is based on the original illustrations in the books I believe. I love this teacup!
